More Top Honors for Gallery Giclées
Artist Michael Dumas



Kudos and congratulations to internationally acclaimed artist Michael Dumas!

Michael continues to garner some of the art world’s most prestigious awards and major recognition, most recently:




Artists from 63 countries submitted more than 3,100 entries for consideration to the Art Renewal Center’s (ARC) International Salon Competition. Michael Dumas’ painting, Sparrow’s Rest, depicting a pair of house sparrows atop a stack of flour sacks, was selected for honors in TWO categories:

Sparrow’s Rest has been included in the ARC Salon Exhibition which opened at the Salmagundi Club in New York in May 2017, AND it will also travel to the Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain for an exhibition September 23 - November 27 of this year.

Prior to the ARC Salon Exhibition, Sparrow’s Rest was featured at the Western Visions Exhibition at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, WY held last fall. It received an Award of Excellence from the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society in their Autumn, 2016 International Online Competition.

Michael is a member of Artists for Conservation, the world’s largest group of artists supporting the environment. His painting, Innocence, was selected for their virtual on-line exhibition and book.

Innocence was also juried into the Society of Animal Artists (SAA) Art and the Animal Exhibition, 2016, opening at the Houston Museum of Natural History where it received the President’s Award for Artistic Achievement. In addition, Innocence was selected for the SAA national museum tour running through 2017.

The Artists for Conservation selected Fox Sparrow Study (above) for the 2016 Exhibition that opened in Vancouver last September. It was included in the exhibition tour that began in Tucson before traveling to the Qingdao LAN Wan Art Gallery in Qingdao City, China, this summer. Fox Sparrow Study can be seen in the new North Light Books publication, Strokes of Genius 8/The Best of Drawing, edited by Rachel Rubin Wolf.

White Garden was chosen as the winner of the ‘Best Sketchbook’ in Plein Air Magazine’s bi-monthly competition for March - April 2017. Michael has also won Best Overall Oil, Best Nocturne and Best Outdoor Still Life in previous PAM competitions.

A rare colored pencil work by Michael, Red-tailed Hawk Study, has been included in a new North Light Books publication titled Art Journey - Animals: A Collection of Inspiring Contemporary Artworks, edited by Jamie Markle.
